Zahi El Khatib
Managing Director and Founder
Zahi is the Managing Director and Founder of Health Invest Africa.
Zahi has led a successful career in Private Equity and Investment Banking, with over two decades of experience across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Before establishing HIA, Zahi held the position of Managing Director at Actis in Nigeria. He started his career in the investment banking division of Citigroup in London.
Over the past decade, Zahi has dedicated his career to Africa, building a distinguished track record encompassing investments and successful exits. During this period, he led numerous high-impact investments that played a pivotal role in creating market leaders in the region, such as Saham Finances, Network International, GHL Bank, Mouka, Indorama Fertilizers and others. These investments and exits span a wide range of sectors, including financial services and technology, infrastructure, consumer goods and healthcare.
In 2020, Zahi embarked on a new chapter by founding Health Invest Africa. This started by recognizing an expanding gap in the healthcare sector, prompting him and the team to construct a highly impactful and scalable business model targeting non-communicable diseases. This model aims to provide quality and accessible care to the general population in the region, backed by a unique ecosystem of partnerships and critical resources. This vision and approach are the result of a keen understanding of the region’s unique opportunities and challenges, and years of experience generating sustainable growth and total stakeholders returns.
Zahi holds an MSc in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
Georges Abou Nader
Director
Georges is a Director at Health Invest Africa.
Georges has more than 8 years of investment banking and corporate experience in Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining HIA, he was a Vice President at Credit Suisse’s (CS) investment banking division in London where he led several high-profile M&A and financing transactions.
Having built a substantial track record in assisting young, high-growth companies in setting their strategy and executing on their business plans, Georges brought to HIA a skillset that has proved invaluable for its businesses’ development. Georges understands how to structure and lead fundraising efforts while maintaining management operational focus. This was most evident during his last 2 years at CS, where he helped several growth-stage Mobility companies, such as Allego and Zeplug, in raising large sums of capital to fuel their growth.
Georges holds an MBA from the London Business School, an MSc in Financial Engineering from Imperial College London, and a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
Dr Abou Dao
Senior Oncologist
Dr Dao oversees the oncology clinical operations and quality assurance.
Over the past 13 years Dr Dao has been a reference in radiation oncology, fulfilling a crucial role in improving cancer treatment in different parts of Africa. Prior to joining HIA, he helped establish and develop radiotherapy operations at several hospitals including the Nakhil centre in Morocco, the Muk and Maseb centre in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the university hospital of Bogodogo in Burkina Faso, where he managed clinical operations until joining HIA. Dr. Dao also held other prestigious roles such as consultant radiotherapist at the Novamed group in Ivory Coast, and as a teaching assistant at the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University in Burkina Faso.
Dr Dao is an avid teacher and researcher placing a significant focus on training and developing the skillset of consultants and therapists in radiation oncology. He also gave several key addresses on the topic of cancer in Africa and Europe and has published 5 scientific articles as well as 3 white papers on various medical topics.
Dr Dao obtained his specialization in Radiation Oncology from the University of Hassan II in Morocco and has participated in more than 36 professional seminars and trainings during his career.
Dr Olaniyi Oladosu
Nephrology Medical Officer
Dr. Oladosu is the Medical Officer in charge of supervising HIA’s dialysis operations.
Dr. Oladosu is a seasoned medical doctor with several years of experience in General Practice and Renal Medicine. Prior to joining HIA, he was a Dialysis Medical Officer at the Life Support Medical Centre. He has a lifelong passion of helping underserved communities, which he demonstrated through his previous postings at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital where he provided crucial care during the COVID outbreak, as well as in rural Ogun where he ensured underprivileged towns received proper care.
He earned his MBBS degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos and has co-authored one medical white paper.
Mercy Okhuegbe
HR Manager
Mercy oversees all HR activities across our businesses.
Mercy has more than 10 years of experience in managing human resources at various institutions. Most recently, she was the HR and Admin Officer at Starsight Energy, a leading renewable energy company in Africa. Prior to this, she held HR positions in the Legal and FMCG sectors, giving her a wide-ranging exposure to various industry dynamics.
She is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) and a Senior certified professional of the Society of Human Resources (SHRM).
She has a substantial track record in managing large workforces as well as a wide-ranging skillset which makes her best placed to support our clinical teams across our centres. She is well-versed in Nigerian labour law and has a strong understanding of the employee lifecycle.
Mercy is a sociology Graduate from the Ambrose Alli University.
